First 12 hours....

I have arrived!!!!!! It is 11.45pm and I have not slept now for about 48 hours and I feel strangely wide awake, I imagine this is what jet lag feels like, so what else is there to do other than ramble on about my first thoughts on Singapore!

(I would like to say at this point, I have re-written that sentence about 5 times, I don't think me and "blogging" are going to get along well, but Paul Beeby - for you I am trying!)

So Singapore is BLOODY HOT. I walked past an open door at the airport and genuinely thought I had walked past an oven - wasn't too sunny today though so a little disappointed. The flight was good, but LONG. I stopped for a bit in Dubai which was great. I was a little scared though of some of their strict laws so I refrained from kissing anybody in the hour and a half I was there (it was tough - there are a lot of rich people in Dubai.) I also felt too scared to clean my teeth - in case I was arrested for spitting in public!!

                                                           HELLO SINGAPORE!!!

Am staying in a lush hotel with a lot of other international teachers (mainly british) which is really nice and this evening a few of us went out for a meal and a beer - unfortunately as the menu was in chinese my meal was.... shredded pigs ears. When I told one of the Singaporean mentors about this she laughed and replied "at least you will be able to hear better." I felt sick, will just be sticking to rice from now on.

                 I did not realise this was what I had eaten until we went for a beer in another bar!!

                                                              CHINATOWN!!!!!!!!!!

We went for a walk around Chinatown, I would normally comment on all the great smelling food but the pigs ears had turned my stomach a little. It seems a really cool city and I am very excited to get up tomorrow and explore some more, and apparently I have a house viewing at 10.30am! Can't wait for that!

So I'm going to go now as I am fully aware I have had a few beers and no sleep and am rambling on. LOVE AND MISS YOU ALL XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

(Well maybe not all of you as I am posting this in my status so I am aware anyone can read it. Also if the blog sounds crap please don't feel under pressure to read it, I won't be as it makes me cringe.)
